On Wednesday 13th of there were gunshots heard inside the Philippine Senate where Senator Ronald dela Rosa had sought protection following the unsealing of a warrant for his arrest from the International Criminal Court. He is wanted for alleged crimes against humanity. Dela rosa is strongly associated with Former President Duterte's "War on Drugs", formally known as “Project Double Barrel,” which targeted criminals, including drug users. It has been widely documented as causing thousands, if not tens of thousands of extrajudicial killings Methamphetamine – or shabu as it is known in the Philippines - is a problem in the country still today. According to the Organized Crime Index, it has a high score of 9 out of 10, and ranks third globally.
