Who are the Kinahan Cartel?
Daniel Kinahan has been arrested in Dubai.
In the 1990s, a boom in the cocaine trade fuelled the rise of the Kinahan Cartel, founded by Christopher Kinahan Sr and his sons, Daniel and Christopher Jr.
As the Kinahans amassed wealth, their operations became synonymous with violence, assassinations and a bloody feud with rival criminal groups, most notably the Hutch–Kinahan feud, which spanned across Europe.
The Kinahan Cartel’s influence grew to the point where they formed alliances with other criminal organizations, creating what Europol dubbed the European ‘super cartel’, which dominated the continent’s cocaine distribution network.
