Improved Water and Sanitation for a Healthy Community | EngenderHealth Ethiopia REACH

Safe water and sanitation are essential to health, education, and dignity.

Through EngenderHealth’s Reach, Expand, and Access Community Health (REACH) program in Ethiopia’s Jimma and Borena zones, schools and communities are strengthening access to clean water, improved sanitation, and sustainable WASH systems. This video highlights how coordinated action has helped reduce barriers that once kept students from class, including the need to leave school to fetch water.

REACH also supports community engagement around sanitation, school gardens that help fund menstrual health and hygiene needs, and local ownership of WASH infrastructure so these gains can continue beyond a single project timeline.
