A metà aprile abbiamo partecipato ai conteggi di Cervo, Cinghiale e Capriolo disposti dalla Regione Abruzzo per stimare abbondanza e distribuzione di queste specie. Un'attività che vede collaborare Aree Protette e ambiti di caccia, e a cui anche #RewildingApennines ha contribuito con le proprie osservazioni. Due albe e due tramonti immersi nell'Appennino, con gli occhi puntati su questi animali nel loro ambiente. Non è il tipo di lavoro che finisce sui titoli dei giornali, ma è quello su cui si costruisce qualsiasi scelta di gestione che voglia avere 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗲: 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗶 𝗰𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗼, 𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼, 𝗱𝗮 𝗽𝗶𝘂̀ 𝘀𝗼𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶. Il monitoraggio continuativo non è un lusso. È il prerequisito. . 📷Cover: Bogdan Boev 📹Rewilding Apennines . 🇬🇧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬🦌🔭🐗 In mid Aprile we took part in surveys of Red Deer, Wild Boar and Roe Deer organised by the Abruzzo Region to estimate the abundance and distribution of these species. The activity brings together Protected Areas and hunting districts, and #RewildingApennines contributed its own field observations. Two dawns and two dusks in the Apennines, eyes on these animals in their habitat. It's not the kind of work that makes headlines, but it's the kind on which 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁: data collected methodically, over time, by multiple observers. Continuous monitoring is not a luxury. It's the prerequisite.
