How can Artificial Intelligence be used not only to understand risks, but to strengthen prevention? Hedayah convened government representatives, the tech sector, and academia to explore this question and support counter-extremism and counter-terrorism practitioners as they adapt to rapidly evolving technologies. Recently in London, Hedayah brought together experts for a timely discussion on “Artificial Intelligence, Terrorism and Extremism: Threats, Risks, Opportunities and the Role of Governments,” addressing one of the most pressing and fast-moving challenges in the field. From examining the use of AI in propaganda and recruitment to exploring its potential in strategic communications, early intervention, and building digital resilience, discussions highlighted both the complexity of the challenge and the opportunities ahead. As AI continues to evolve, so too must our collective efforts to ensure it is applied responsibly, ethically, and effectively.
