Reducing waste starts at the source. In Da Lat, Viet Nam, pilot activities show how composting at source can significantly reduce organic waste before it enters the municipal waste stream. Through the design, construction, and testing of nine composting models, the pilot engaged schools, households, farms, and tourism facilities to identify practical and scalable solutions for organic waste management. These hands-on experiences provide valuable evidence for local and national authorities to assess which composting approaches can be scaled up and replicated. Through the GIZ ASEAN Municipal Solid Waste Management (AMUSE) project, Germany supports small and medium-sized cities across ASEAN in improving environmental quality through innovative, locally adapted waste management solutions. #asean #wastemanagement #gizworks
