Ending Child Marriage in Upper West Region: A Call to Collective Action
As we conclude this year’s Regional Stakeholder Dialogue on Child Marriage, one truth stands firm: progress is possible—but only through urgent, united action.
For over 35 years, ActionAid Ghana has championed social justice, gender equality, and the rights of the most vulnerable. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to end the injustice of child marriage—one of the most harmful practices denying girls their future.
Together with communities, traditional leaders, governments, and civil society, we must:
✅ Deepen grassroots education and engagement
✅ Strengthen multi-sector partnerships
✅ Address poverty and inequality at the root
✅ Enforce child protection laws
✅ Empower girls as leaders of change
Every girl has the right to education, health, safety, and choice. Let us hold ourselves and our leaders accountable. The time to act is now.
Together, we can end child marriage in West Africa—once and for all.
