World Water Day Photo Exhibition with Foto4change. #HerWaterHerPower

On World Water Day 2026, ActionAid Ghana (AAG), in partnership with Foto4Change, delivered a powerful and high-impact exhibition under the theme #HerWaterHerPower—bringing urgency, visibility, and renewed momentum to the fight for equitable water access in Ghana. Held at the Bilpiela Dam in Tamale, the event spotlighted the harsh realities of water inequality, particularly for women and girls, and demonstrated how communities cope, adapt, and lead solutions in the face of climate pressures. Building on the success of the 2025 edition, which showcased the “Water Scarcity and Climate Change” Street Photography Exhibition in Kpene and Dabogshei, the 2026 event combined visual storytelling, community theatre, and grassroots engagement to amplify the voices of those most affected. In 2025 alone, over 450 participants experienced firsthand the intersection of climate vulnerability and water insecurity, inspiring initiatives such as community-led tree planting in Dabogshei, reinforcing local ownership of climate action and environmental stewardship. This year’s exhibition reinforced a critical truth: women and girls continue to shoulder the heaviest burden of water inequality—walking long distances for water, facing health risks from unsafe sources, and remaining on the frontlines of climate-related water challenges.
