In the outskirts of Burao, Somaliland, three brothers looked at a dying industry and decided to bring it back to life. Allamangan Gums & Resins (AGRPC) has spent over two decades rebuilding the frankincense and myrrh trade, creating jobs, training communities, and producing some of the finest resin grades in the Horn of Africa. At the heart of the operation: 80 women whose sorting skills have become the backbone of the company's quality and reputation. In this video, we sit down with Finance Manager Musafe Mohamoud Omar and workers Hamda Yusuf and Yurub Hassan Elmi to hear how strategic investment through Shuraako and the Nordic Horn of Africa Opportunities Fund transformed a small family business into one of Somaliland's strongest resin exporters. You'll learn: → How Allamangan revived a nearly forgotten sector → Why women make up the core of its processing workforce → How three rounds of impact investment more than doubled the company's workforce → What it takes to produce export-grade frankincense and myrrh Allamangan Gums & Resins is a portfolio company of Shuraako, a program of One Earth Future Foundation that connects Somali businesses with impact capital to drive job creation and economic growth in the Horn of Africa.
