Empowering Youth Through Climate-Smart Agriculture in Jordan | Green Skills Success Story
The Climate-Smart Agriculture Training Program at the Rusayfah Vocational Training Center stands as a strong example of empowering youth with practical skills in sustainable agriculture.
Over the course of three months of intensive training, 20 participants with disabilities— including four young women—successfully completed the program despite the challenges they face. The initiative helped them build hands-on technical skills, strengthen their confidence, and enhance their future employment opportunities within the green sector.
The training demonstrated a high level of commitment and engagement from all participants, with zero dropouts throughout the program. This reflects the program’s ability to create a supportive and motivating learning environment that combines practical experience with technical knowledge, ultimately improving participants’ prospects in sustainable agriculture.
This program is part of the project “Creating Sustainable Green Jobs for Refugees and Host Communities through the Green Economy in Jordan,” funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and implemented by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) under the supervision of the Ministry of Environment.
The project contributes to expanding economic opportunities in Jordan’s green sectors, strengthening community resilience to climate challenges, and supporting the transition toward a low-emission, more sustainable economy.
