Changing Lives Together: An OPEC Fund Video Series Zimbabwe produces some of the world’s finest cotton, prized for its softness and strength. Yet for decades, much of this raw material was exported for processing elsewhere, limiting local job creation, skills development and industrial growth. Through US$100 million in trade finance provided via ETG, the OPEC Fund is helping strengthen Zimbabwe’s domestic textiles value chain. The financing supports farmers, processors and companies such as David Whitehead Textiles with access to markets, tools, training and networks. By keeping more value in the country, the project is helping turn cotton into fabric, fashion, jobs and long-term opportunity.
