Changing Lives Together: An OPEC Fund Video Series Tajikistan: The OPEC Fund contributed USD 10 million to the Improvement of Water Resources Management in Khatlon Region Project, part of a USD 53.5 million investment co-financed with the Saudi Fund, IsDB and the Government. The ongoing project is modernizing irrigation networks, pumping stations and drinking water supply systems across five districts, directly benefiting 115,000 farming families. In a region where unreliable water access constrains both harvests and daily life, upgraded infrastructure means more land under cultivation, higher crop yields and safer drinking water — with women and youth among the primary intended beneficiaries.
