Improving access to healthcare in rural Kenya through drone delivery of medical supplies

In rural Kenya, access to healthcare remains limited by infrastructure and supply chain challenges. This project is assessing how drone technology can deliver essential medical supplies to remote communities. This IDRC-supported research is testing the use of autonomous drones to improve supply chain logistics for key medical products , including vaccines, diagnostic tests and blood products , in hard-to-reach areas. By extending the reach of medical supply chains, this innovation helps address gaps in access to care and supports more resilient health systems. For Canada, supporting innovation where it is happening is a strategic choice , one that strengthens global health systems and delivers shared benefits. Because tomorrow is shaped by the innovations of today , no matter where they’re born. Learn more : https://bit.ly/4eBj8Bj Disponible en français: https://youtu.be/U06nXOjFtJg
