Urban Floods CoP Session — The Bread & Butter of Urban Flood Management: Learning from the Regions

We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming session of the Urban Floods Community of Practice, where we will delve into the bread and butter of effective urban flood management—core principles, and some practical do’s and don’ts that shape resilient project design and implementation. 

This session will place a strong emphasis on Learning from the Regions, drawing on concrete experiences from East Asia, Latin America &amp; the Caribbean, and Africa. Through three regional deep dives, we will explore how foundational concepts are applied in practice, how teams navigate implementation challenges, and what lessons can be transferred across contexts. 

This discussion will highlight lessons learned, practical guidance, and emerging insights that can inform the preparation and implementation of future urban flood resilience operations across the Bank’s portfolio.
