European Data Summit 2026 – Enforce. Simplify. Build. | Day 1 | 14. April 2026
On the first day of the #EUdataSummit, discussions focused on the enforcement of Europe’s digital rulebook and whether the #DMA, #DSA and competition policy tools are delivering on their promises. Particular attention was given to holding Big Tech accountable, structural remedies to curb market dominance, and the systemic risks created by platform recommender systems. The debate also explored Europe’s growing dependence on foreign tech infrastructure, questions of digital sovereignty, platform-enabled fraud, and market concentration in the financial sector.
