Webinar Series: Human Mobility as Adaptation and Resilience Strategy

Across the Philippines, communities with diverse geographic, demographic, and socioeconomic profiles apply mobility-based strategies to cope with climate change impacts. Through the Climate Change Adaptation and Community Resilience (CARP) project, IOM engaged directly with communities to document their lived experiences and highlight how they leverage #ClimateMigration for their continued survival. Understanding that human mobility can be an adaptation strategy supports vulnerable communities in planning and implementing contextualized responses to these challenges. At the same time, recognizing the impact of cross-cutting vulnerabilities like gender roles, age, disability, access to support networks, and many other factors is important in individual migration decisions.
