Freedom is Not a Single Day

Freedom is Not a Single Day

Today South Africa marks 32 years since the first democratic election on 27 April 1994. Freedom Day is a reminder that the rights people enjoy today were not handed to anyone — they were demanded, marched for and voted into existence. The United Nations stands with South Africa in honouring that history and in the ongoing work of building a country where everyone's rights are protected, where young people have real opportunities and where no one is left behind.🇿🇦
