Taras Rudenko on Designing Barrier-Free Routes

Taras Rudenko, a participant in the Barrier Free Routes School, demonstrates what a practical approach to accessibility can look like through the example of the “Gateway to the City” route, which was developed for Poltava during the Barrier-Free Routes School 2025. The school was organized by UNDP and the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine. The project proposes a new spatial logic for the area around the Poltava-Kyivska railway station, including direct access to the platforms from public transport stops and parking areas, reorganised pedestrian routes, and convenient parking spaces for people with limited mobility. UNDP in Ukraine supports the development of barrier-free solutions in communities with financial backing from the Government of Japan. Video: Svoye Kino / UNDP in Ukraine
