In Ukraineєs frontline borderlands, where communities live under the constant threat of shelling, medical professionals continue to save lives and care for their patients every day. Despite the challenges of war, they remain alongside their communities, providing essential healthcare where it is needed most.
This video story follows trauma surgeon Nataliia Yakovenchuk and senior nurse Liliia Suiarko — two healthcare professionals who chose to stay in their communities and continue caring for people.
With support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Korea, hospital departments where Nataliia and Liliia work are being restored. These efforts help improve working conditions for medical personnel and ensure that local communities continue to have access to quality healthcare services.
