Resilient Energy for Resilient Communities in Ukraine

Resilient Energy for Resilient Communities in Ukraine

Energy resilience is the backbone of Ukraine’s recovery. Moving a 200-tonne autotransformer across a country in recovery isn't just a logistical feat – it's a lifeline. This critical equipment, delivered in partnership with the Government of Denmark, will stabilize the national grid for millions of Ukrainians. But UNDP’s work doesn't stop at the national level. We are actively helping Ukraine to decentralize power generation to make it more resilient. In Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv, Denmark and UNDP are installing cogeneration units that ensure schools and hospitals stay warm and powered, regardless of external outages. By providing both massive grid components and local heating solutions, we’re helping cities continue to function even in the most difficult conditions. Comprehensive. Practical. Resilient. Watch how Denmark and UNDP are working together to keep the lights on and the heat running.
