Ben Lark on Why Demining Innovation Matters
The UNDP Mine Action Programme team took part in Ukraine’s largest demonstration and testing event for humanitarian demining equipment, UTTC Technology Week 2026.
The event was held at the UTTC training and testing facility in the Lviv Oblast, designed to trial the latest technologies, and brought together more than 50 technology companies and developers from Ukraine and abroad.
UNDP Ukraine's Ben Lark explains why events like this are essential for advancing innovation and improving the efficiency of mine action.
The event was organised by the Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection and Environmental Safety of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, and UNDP in Ukraine, with support from the Government of Luxembourg.
