MACS: Monitoring Action for Civic Space is a framework that monitors civic freedoms across EU countries, crucial for civil society groups and individuals to maintain fundamental freedoms. Zahari Iankov, Senior legal advisor at the Bulgarian Center for Non-for-Profit Law, explains how Bulgarian organisations pushed back against governmental pressures to restrict freedom of association and freedom of press in 2025.
