Hungary's Civil Society in Action in 2025: Resistance, Solidarity & Impact.
MACS: Monitoring Action for Civic Space is a framework that monitors civic freedoms across EU countries, crucial for civil society groups and individuals to maintain fundamental freedoms.
Veronika Mora, the director of Ökotárs Alapítvány, explains how Hungarian organisations pushed back against two major governmental attacks on the financial access of civil and media organisations, and on human fundamental freedoms with the banning of the 2025 Pride March.
The MACS: Monitoring Action for Civic Space is co-funded by the European Union. It is implemented by the European Center for Not-for-Profit Law, European Civic Forum, Bulgarian Center for Not-for-Profit Law, Foreningen Nyt Europa, Le Mouvement associatif, Okotars Alapitvany, Stichting Nederlands Helsinki Comite, Ogolnopolska Federacja Organizacji Pozarzadowych, Fundația pentru Dezvoltarea Societății Civile.
