The European Union's (EU) AI Act is a major regulation for Artificial Intelligence. However, it's a bit of a mixed bag. While it improves transparency and accountability for AI systems in high-risk areas like law enforcement and welfare allocation, it also has significant exemptions and loopholes that could undermine protections for fundamental rights.
