Millions of people with diabetes rely on insulin to stay alive and healthy. In South Africa, where diabetes is a leading cause of death, human insulin has been available in pens since 2014. For many people with diabetes, using pens to administer their insulin is easier, more accurate, and preferred over more difficult-to-use vials and syringes. All insulin pens must be available at $1 per pen, so that everyone can access the highest standard of diabetes treatment.
