HRC61: ICJ Statement on Counter-terrorism and Human Rights
During the 61st Session of the UN Human Rights Council, the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) delivered a powerful statement denouncing the Tunisian authorities' systematic misuse of the 2015 Counter-Terrorism Law.
Since 2021, the situation has escalated into a full-blown crisis for the Rule of Law. Lawyers, judges, and prosecutors are being arbitrarily detained and prosecuted—not for committing crimes, but for merely discharging their professional duties or expressing their views.
