Power Moves: Local Government Strategy for Utility & PUC Collaboration

Power Moves: Local Government Strategy for Utility & PUC Collaboration

As large buyers of energy, implementers of local climate solutions, and vital intermediaries between stakeholder groups, local governments have a big role to play in shaping the future of energy in their communities. Many of the goals cities are working toward are directly impacted by decisions made by utilities and state regulators about how energy is generated and delivered. Too often, though, local governments may be left out of critical decisions made by utilities and public utility commissions (PUCs) that impact their ability to provide affordable, reliable, and clean energy to their communities. This webinar, the 2nd installment in our series on local governments' influence on energy system decision making, brings together experts for a discussion on how cities can effectively build an internal strategy for engaging with their utility and PUC. The session presents a framework for building internal strategy with actionable takeaways and highlights stories from cities that have used a similar approach, offering real-life examples and lessons learned.
