Over the last four years, the EU-funded Somalia Education Systems Strengthening Programme (SESSP) has supported the Federal Government of Somalia to establish and strengthen Quality Assurance and Standards departments across all regions. As part of this initiative, SESSP hosted a lessons learnt event in Mogadishu to share important ideas, key learnings and action steps towards strengthening Somalia education systems through the implementation of Quality Assurance and Standards. The special briefing featured insightful panel discussions featuring education experts from Somalia’s government ministries, the donor community and our development partners who shared their invaluable insights. Additionally, the event also highlighted the important role that teachers play as the drivers and gatekeepers of quality education across Somalia. Here are the highlights.
