ASI Thought Leaders Forum | Impact Through Inclusion: Why GESI Mainstreaming is Key to Success

Join us for a stimulating dialogue on our newly released research into mainstreaming Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) in development assistance programming. This event took place on June 26, 2024 and explored best practices, challenges, and opportunities in mainstreaming GESI principles. Our panel of experts shared their insights on driving meaningful change and ensuring inclusivity in development efforts. ➡️ Sally Neville (Team Leader), Srijana Chettri (Deputy Team Leader), and Amelia Duggan (ASI Senior Manager) shared key insights from their year-long research, including the three essential elements and 12 common approaches to GESI mainstreaming supported by development partners, implementors, and practitioners globally. ➡️ Annika Burke, ASI Senior Manager and experienced Development and Climate Change Economist, guided the discussion. ➡️ We were also pleased to have Sally Duncan from the British Embassy Kathmandu (BEK) who shared reflections on the importance of this research from the BEK/FCDO perspective and their plans for implementing the recommendations and lessons. ➡️ The presentation was followed by an extended Q&A, allowing the audience to engage with the researchers.
