Too many women in Alabama—and across the country—can’t access maternal care that truly meets their needs, not just through childbirth but beyond. WAWC is changing that. In this video, patients and providers at WAWC share what it means to have a clinic that walks with women along every step of their journey, offering midwifery, doula services, and mental health support, all in one place. They’re lifting other everyday barriers, too, by providing resources like clothing, food, and transportation to appointments. WAWC’s approach is patient-led: Care is shaped by what each woman wants and needs, delivered by providers who listen. Since opening a new clinic, WAWC has more than doubled the number of women it serves. WAWC is one of 80+ awardee organizations supported through Pivotal’s Action for Women’s Health, a $250 million initiative managed by Lever for Change to support organizations around the world working to improve women’s mental and physical health.
