In Galapagos, when we think of hunters, sharks and orcas usually come to mind. But hidden among the vegetation, almost invisible in plain sight, lives another kind of predator. Tiny, silent, and often overlooked, these insects belong to the Ichneumonidae family, also known as Darwin’s wasps. 🔬 At first glance, they seem no different from any other wasp. They fly unnoticed through the islands, blending into their surroundings.
