Held in Dakar in October 2025, the West and Central Africa Girls Summit provided a bold platform for adolescent girls and boys to lead the conversation on issues shaping their lives and futures. From education and skills to protection, participation and leadership, girls spoke with clarity, courage and vision. The #Girlssummitdakar2025 strengthened commitments to invest in girls’ rights and leadership, recognizing them not only as beneficiaries, but as partners in building more inclusive and resilient societies in West and Central Africa. The two-days Summit concluded with girls presenting the Regional Girls Agenda and the Dakar Declaration, setting a clear regional framework for action.
