IDEA Webinar: Resistance to Imperialism
Watch the recording of our final webinar in the series Exploring Contemporary Issues through Global Citizenship Education, titled “Resistance to Imperialism”. The session explored how imperialism continues to shape global inequalities, with reflections on resistance across local and global contexts, from Minneapolis to the Sahel and Lebanon. Speakers were Jey Ehrenhalt, a Minneapolis-based writer focused on social justice education; Mikaela Nhondo Erskog, a researcher and editor at Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research and co-coordinator of its Pan-Africa office; and Hussein Assaf, a Beirut-based journalist, writer, and editor-in-chief of Vocal Politics. The session was moderated by Leigh Brady, Policy and Advocacy Manager, and highlighted the importance of understanding and responding to ongoing struggles for justice and liberation worldwide.
