To strengthen national capacities, policymakers and frontline authorities came together in Dublin, Ireland, and Rotterdam, the Netherlands, for a dynamic and immersive ENFORCE study tour on the prevention and combatting of illegal traffic of hazardous and other wastes under the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal. These meetings aimed to foster collaboration and share knowledge — improving coordination and enforcement against illegal waste movements.
The initiative shows the power of regional leadership, collaboration, and shared purpose in the face of transboundary environmental crime.
