Kisumu's Wastewater Revolution: A Story of Empowerment
The Kisumu Wastewater Manager Association (Kwawama) is a vital part of Kisumu's wastewater management system. However, it faced challenges in coordination and resource limitations. With support from a $2,326 grant from the Sanitation and Hygiene Fund (SHF), Kwawama has made significant progress. They have improved their organization, secured more jobs, and increased their revenue. Looking ahead, Kwawama aims to expand its services and create additional job opportunities for Kisumu residents.
In this video, we hear from Jael Ocholla, a female vacuum truck operator in Kisumu about her exciting job and the impact it has had on her life.
