Density | Middle school chemistry | Khan Academy

Density is a measure of how much mass is packed into a given volume. This is determined by the mass and number of particles occupying a given space. The relative density of a substance may be used to predict whether it will float on another substance. For instance, anything with a greater density than water sinks in water, but anything with a lower density than water floats on water.
