Innovations in Public Works: Rethinking Public Works for Jobs and Skills in a Changing World

The webinar explored how public works programs (PWPs) are evolving to respond to challenges of climate, demographic shifts, and gender gaps, while seizing the opportunities of digital technologies. The starting point for the discussion was the World Bank’s new study Innovations in Public Works: Rethinking Public Works for Jobs and Skills in a Changing World, which examined how a new generation of PWPs was moving beyond the traditional focus on low-skill jobs and infrastructure to deliver broader and longer-term benefits.
