The outreach program targeted two secondary schools in Ibadan: Army Day Secondary School and Ojoo High School. The engagement focused on raising awareness about the critical role of agriculture in national economic development, promoting knowledge of food nutrition and safety, introducing underutilized crops with high potential for food and income security, and highlighting the importance of gender inclusion in achieving sustainable food security. Through these activities, the program contributed to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by promoting improved nutrition and sustainable agriculture; SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by emphasizing inclusive participation in food systems; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by showcasing agriculture as a driver of economic development; and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through awareness of food safety and sustainable practices.
