EUDR: triggering systemic changes
The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is one of the most innovative attempts to tackle deforestation ever seen. Despite recent delays and attempts to weaken it, the Regulation remains widely supported and is already driving global impact.
This webinar explores the seismic shifts the EUDR has already triggered and the changes we have seen with regards to transparency and traceability in forest risk commodity supply chains.
The webinar was moderated by Fern campaigner Nicole Polsterer, with contributions from:
- Dr Michaela Foster, Expert, Agricultural Value Chains and Governance, European Forest Institute
- Dr Andrés Ginés, Coordinator of the Socio-Environmental Traceability Implementation Unit, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Paraguay
- Olivier Laboulle, Global Head of Coffee Sustainability and Social Impact, Louis Dreyfus Company
- Marta Angoloti Benavides, Head of the Timber Division, Directorate-General for Biodiversity, Forests and Desertification, Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Spain
- Antoine Haouchine, International Relations Officer – EUDR, European Commission
