Critical action 4: Cutting red tape

Reaching net-zero by mid-century will rely on massive, clean electrification. There are six critical actions for the 2020s that will enable that necessary scale up in electricity deployment. The fourth action is having appropriate planning and permitting to speed up implementation. Local and national governments will need to streamline planning, permitting and land acquisition processes, ideally offering a “one stop shop” to project developers. Planning will also require an integrated power system vision, to ensure generation, storage and networks are built coherently. Watch the video to find out what other actions are needed to ensure a prosperous, greener economy is in reach.
