On 11 February the Energy Transitions Commission hosted a webinar in partnership with Arup to mark the launch of our latest report, Achieving Zero-Carbon Buildings: Electric, Efficient and Flexible. Amongst several topics, our panellists discussed: What is needed to tip the dial this decade on the electrification of building heating and uptake of low-cost insulation? How can electrified buildings be an asset within a clean energy system? How can we meet rising demand for cooling with efficient air conditioning and better building design? What is the opportunity to reduce the carbon from new construction through material decarbonisation and building differently?
