Endless possibilities: How the IMEU project is scaling energy efficiency in western Uganda

Ugandan schools and communities are stepping up to reduce on over-reliance on traditional biomass and switching to alternative, efficient, clean energy solutions to meet their energy needs. With support from the Inclusive Markets for Energy Efficiency in Uganda (IMEU) project, 87 social institutions (including hospitals, schools, and universities) have adopted energy-efficient (EE) technologies and practices. These cost-effective solutions are enhancing the institutions’ service delivery and resilience. The project's success has also inspired other educational institutions to replicate EE solutions in their facilities. Furthermore, IMEU has trained over 500 youth and women as energy efficiency ambassadors, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to advocate for EE solutions in their communities. In this video, discover how these EE initiatives unlock endless possibilities for an inclusive, low-carbon and resilient future for Uganda.
