Mine safety training for railway workers in Ukraine
Railway workers from the Kakhovka Track Distance in Ukraine inspect and repair railway lines every day to keep trains running safely. Since the full-scale invasion, their work has become more dangerous, as there may still be mines and other explosive hazards near the tracks.
Mine safety training helps railway workers recognize hidden threats and work more safely. The training was delivered with the support of the Ukraine Community Recovery Fund and the Government of Denmark as part of a joint project implemented by UNDP and UNHCR. Such initiatives help ensure the safety of people maintaining vital infrastructure while enabling communities affected by the hostilities to restore transport links and mobility.
