WHO EMRO and GLIDE: Strategic Partnership to Prevent Malaria Re-Establishment in the MENA Region

Led by WHO EMRO in partnership with the Global Institute for Disease Elimination #GLIDE, this regional initiative is supporting countries across the MENA region to develop a malaria vectors data platform for elimination and prevention of  re-establishment of local transmission.
 
Rooted in shared goals, this initiative is building the MENA region’s first integrated malaria vectors database, combining over a century of historical data with vector mapping and environmental risk analysis, while strengthening surveillance, cross-border collaboration and data sharing to eliminate and prevent re-establishment of malaria.
