Improving Access to Essential Medicines Through Local Manufacturing in Africa

To expand local manufacturing of essential medicines and vaccines in Africa, the World Bank Group, through its private sector arm, IFC, and partners provided €1.1 billion in financing to Aspen Pharmacare. The partnership is strengthening local production, creating jobs, and expanding access to life-saving medicines for millions across the continent.
