From 21 to 29 April 2025, 16 participants from 8 ASEAN Member States and the AHA Centre honed key skills needed to lead the ASEAN-ERAT at the 1st Level 3 (Team Leader) Course in Singapore. Team Leaders play a crucial role in ASEAN-ERAT missions—they make strategic decisions, navigate coordination with a multitude of actors, and ensure their team’s success in carrying out mission objectives. Their leadership has been vital in missions such as the 2018 Central Sulawesi earthquake, 2023 Tropical Cyclone Mocha, 2024 Tropical Cyclone Yagi, and the recent 7.7M earthquake in Myanmar. The 1st ASEAN-ERAT Level 3 Course was co-organised by the AHA Centre and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) with support from the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
