How the Community Fund for Forests works | 2D explainer

An introduction to the Community Fund for Forests (CFF), an innovative financing mechanism in the Democratic Republic of the Congo that puts resources directly into the hands of Indigenous Peoples and local communities protecting tropical forests. 

This 2D explainer video shows how the mechanism works in practice, how funds are transferred directly through mobile money, and how community-led solutions can strengthen forest governance and sustainable territorial management. 

So far, 11 communities managing nearly 80,000 hectares of forest in Equateur Province have already received grants supporting community-defined livelihoods, stronger forest governance, participatory land-use planning, and local forest monitoring.
