Over 700 newborns die each day in Pakistan, and more than 30% of these deaths are due to complications from prematurity. However, timely care can give these babies a healthy start and a hopeful future. Baby Ayra, born 7 weeks preterm, was fragile and fighting for life. Through Kangaroo Mother Care, skin-to-skin contact, breastfeeding support and dedicated health workers, she steadily grew stronger, with normal developmental milestones, a true example of #HealthyBeginnings showing that simple, proven care can help babies survive and thrive. #WorldPrematurityDay is more than a day - it’s a global call to action.
