Session 08: How can the current state of evidence inform diverse rural livelihoods programs across contexts? On 9 September 2025, 3ie brought together policymakers, researchers, implementers, donors, and self-help group members for a shared dialogue on lessons from the Ministry of Rural Development’s Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). Over the years, DAY-NRLM and the National Rural Economic Transformation Project (NRETP) interventions have strengthened financial inclusion, built social capital, and enhanced the livelihoods of millions of rural households across India. The lessons learned—alongside rich community reflections—offer valuable insights into what livelihood programs must prioritize in 2025, as we approach the Global Goals deadline. To move forward effectively, we must focus on the interconnectedness of interventions and the alignment of policies not just in India but across other low- and middle-income countries. In this panel, speakers shared their perspectives on how we can better leverage existing evidence to inform and accelerate global progress. Moderator: Bidisha Barooah, Lead Evaluation Specialist, 3ie Panellists:  - Charanjit Singh, Former Additional Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development - Anjani Kumar Singh, Senior Program Manager, Gates Foundation - Andrew Goodland, Lead Agriculture Specialist India and Afghanistan, World Bank - Shweta Banerjee, India Country Lead, BRAC
