This event was organized by the Statistics Division of ECLAC in collaboration with the National Statistics Institute (INE) of Chile. Its purpose was to promote the exchange of experiences and knowledge on the operationalization of ethics in official statistics, following the recent publication of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) report Ethics in Official Statistics: Foundations and Practices for Foster Public Trust. To this end, the event featured panelists from UNECE, the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT), and Statistics Canada.
